Daily habits to prevent premature ageing!
Many reasons can cause skin ageing; some we can influence, and others are out of our control. The natural ageing process brings visible wrinkles to your face. Over time, our skin becomes thinner and drier; our genes play a vital role in these physical changes. This type of ageing is called “intrinsic ageing”. Another type of ageing that affects our skin significantly is environmental factors, called “extrinsic ageing”. This is premature ageing, and some preventive actions can be taken to slow down the process.
Helpful tips to prevent premature ageing
- Use sunscreen: Venturing out in the sun is inevitable, and using an SPF 30+ sunscreen lotion that is water-resistant can help a great deal. Wear protective clothing, light, lightweight clothes, a wide-brimmed hat, and UV-protected sunglasses.
- Use self-tanner: When you tan, your skin prematurely ages. A tanning bed, indoor tanning device, or sun tan can all age your skin quickly as they emit harmful UV rays.
- No smoking & alcohol: Smoking causes wrinkles and leaves your skin dull. Alcohol roughens your skin, leaving it damaged.
- Balanced diet: Drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables to prevent sun damage. Eating a high-sugar diet or carbohydrates can quicken the ageing process.
- Exercise: The right exercise can boost your circulatory system, improve your immunity, and make you look youthful.
- Wash your face two times a day: Clear perspiration with regular washing with a safe face wash.
- Apply moisturizer: Facial moisturiser traps water in your skin. Use it every day for a youthful appearance.
- Say no to burning skin care products: Some unsafe skin care products can cause irritation. Do not use them.
